Buying a Firearm Online? Here’s What You Need to Know
What is an FFL?

FFL stands for Federal Firearms License in the United States. It is a government-issued permit that legally allows an individual or company to manufacture, import, or sell firearms and ammunition.

How do I choose an FFL Dealer?

Enter your ZIP code into an FFL Finder to map (at check out) out licensed dealers in your vicinity. Look for “Preferred” or “Verified” badges which indicate they regularly accept online transfers.

What Documents are Required?

A Driver’s License or state-issued ID is the standard. If the address on your ID is outdated, you must provide supplemental government-issued proof of your current address, such as an active vehicle registration or a hunting/fishing license.

Shipping & Transfer Fees

If your firearm is shipped to an FFL dealer, we charge the applicable FedEx or UPS shipping fees, including adult signature service and shipping insurance.

State Restrictions

Firearm purchase requirements vary significantly across the United States. Federal law sets the minimum legal standard, but individual states may impose stricter rules. Some states add additional restrictions or approval steps before a firearm can be purchased or transferred. Before buying, confirm that the firearm you want is legal in your state.

How long will my build take to complete?

Once we receive your final approval to proceed, the average build time is 4–6 weeks. We will contact you about one week before completion to confirm that the FFL / dealer’s address and related information are correct.
