HISTORY

In February 2002, Pastor Robert Battle and Prophetess Noreen Battle were led by Spirit of God to open Tabernacles of Worship Christian Center. Cautiously, they moved forward to make the necessary legal steps to open ministry but were still uncertain if this was what God wanted them to do.

Ministry was good and they were very comfortable attending services / conferences and supporting two powerful men of God with thriving ministries; but God had other plans for them.

On Sunday, March 17, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon, Tabernacles of Worship Christian Center held its first worship service with Apostle Robert Battle, Prophetess Noreen Battle and approximately 12 members, at the Washington Center for the Aging, located at 2601 18th Street, NE, Washington, DC.

During the first year, (March 17, 2002 – March 17, 2003) our leaders could not count the number of times they wanted to fall back and quit the ministry. It was a work that they never imagined but they knew it was their call.

On September 7, 2003, Pastor Robert Battle was confirmed as Apostle and Overseer of Tabernacles of Worship Christian Center. Before this call and position, he resisted until one early morning he heard the voice of God speak to him. It was then, that Apostle Battle put his hand to the plow and did not look back. Apostle Robert understood his mission call to apostles, prophets, and to train those attending TOWCC’s prophetic school. As the church began to grow, he confirmed then Prophetess Noreen Battle on March 17, 2013, as an apostle.

During this magnificent journey, the Lord called Apostle Robert home in April 2016. Many have come and gone since then but those remaining continue fulfilling the vision. With a Gideon company, the Lord has caused TOWCC to do great exploits – to have favor to accomplish more than we ever dreamed possible.

We thank God Almighty for every member, partner, friend, colleague, and visitor. We praise God for our overseers, Apostles Joseph and Sandra Prude, and for every prophetic word uttered by our guests and members alike. We bless God for all that each one has done to make the HOLY GHOST welcome in our house. Now let’s worship HIM with ALL praise, glory, and honor. Hallelujah!
