Then wash it with a solution of mild dishwashing detergent and water. To remove mineral deposits and other debris from a clay pot, use a wire-bristle brush or steel wool.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block79\"><\/div>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block80\"><\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-ee5u7\" class=\"CMQuX tnihK pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"TuVEW\"><strong>Add Soil<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block81\"><\/div>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block82\"><\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-192ld\" class=\"CMQuX tnihK pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"TuVEW\">After the pot is clean, place a stone over the drainage hole to prevent soil from rushing out. Add appropriate soil to a depth of about one quarter full of the pot\u2019s height and hold the plant by the base allowing the untangled roots to dangle in the pot. With one hand holding the plant at rim level, add more soil and gently push it down between the roots with your other hand. Continue doing this while rotating the pot until it is full with patted down soil.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-1enu3\" class=\"CMQuX tnihK pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"TuVEW\"><strong>Water the Plant<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-cuibd\" class=\"CMQuX tnihK pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"TuVEW\">Gently water your plant on an easy \u201cshower\u201d selection of a nozzle or with a sprinkling watering can until water drains from the hole at the bottom of the pot.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<h2 id=\"viewer-46r97\" class=\"_2nRm2 _7wDQO pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"_1lBjl\"><strong>5. De-Bug the Plant<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-bfmf4\" class=\"CMQuX tnihK pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"TuVEW\">If you are not repotting it, it\u2019s best to rid your plant of any unwanted insects before bringing it inside.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fTEXDR\" data-rce-version=\"10.82.1\">\n<div class=\"_9zXzH\" dir=\"ltr\" data-id=\"content-viewer\">\n<div class=\"KOlie\">\n<div class=\"OL1-h\">\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<h3 id=\"viewer-3sjq5\" class=\"WUhtL _7wDQO pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"_1lBjl\"><strong>Soak the Container<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"OL1-h\">\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-a5jig\" class=\"CMQuX tnihK pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"TuVEW\">Drown all insects from the soil by placing the entire container (be sure it has a drainage hole) into a large tub filled with lukewarm water. Submerge the entire pot to above the soil line.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block95\"><\/div>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block96\"><\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-ctmni\" class=\"CMQuX tnihK pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"TuVEW\">Let it sit for approximately one half hour. This will force any soil dwelling insects to float to the surface.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block97\"><\/div>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block98\"><\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-669r4\" class=\"CMQuX tnihK pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"TuVEW\">Skim off any bugs or debris floating on top of the water.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block99\"><\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<h3 id=\"viewer-aaur1\" class=\"WUhtL _7wDQO pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"_1lBjl\"><strong>Brush off Leaves<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-am9q0\" class=\"CMQuX tnihK pasFp Lgome\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"TuVEW\">Using a one inch flat brush (found in home or craft stores), sweep off any cobwebs on top and below the leaves.
