Selective Rack is the most commonly used rack, it is a FIFO (First in First out) method which means the product that is added in first is removed first, it allows for the maximum number of SKU facings and is cost effective and allows your warehouse to carry large amount of stock. Selective Rack allows for the most flexibility in slotting design. It is low cost, flexible and readily available in either roll form or heavy duty structural product.

Selective Pallet Racking comes in two styles:

Roll Formed Selective Rack:  The Roll Formed system is made of lighter components that easily snap together and as a result, are less expensive than the Structural system. However, the Rolled Form system has its limits to the amount of weight it can handle and is easily damaged by forklift trucks. The greatest advantage of Rolled Form is that it is interchangeable among various manufacturers and is excellent for warehouses that store products with varying sizes. Since the Roll Formed Style comes in a bolt-less configuration called “teardrop style” it can easily be assembled and disassembled, making it convenient and effective for companies to accommodate products with various heights and load sizes.

Structural Selective Pallet Rack: Structural pallet racks are made from heavier, cast steel (structural steel) and can provide heavier load capacities. Since the components are bolted together they require more labor to install however require less maintenance. Structural selective pallet rack is ideal for freezers, coolers and distribution facilities where harsh conditions exist. The most common configurations include; pushback, pallet flow and drive-in applications to name a few.
